Music Staff

Belinda Gillam B.A. DipEd ~ Musical Director
Belinda is the founding Musical Director of Yarra Ranges Children's Choir, the Aboriginal Children's Choir and has directed the Yarra Valley Singers since 1996.  She was a member of the Faye Dumont Singers (now Melbourne Chamber Choir), professional chamber ensemble Chorelation and a choral scholar at St Michael's Church, Melbourne. 
In 1999 she was a semi-finalist in the Australasian Choral Conducting Competition and has been a guest presenter at several Australian Choral gatherings.  She was guest conductor of the Victorian Secondary Student Honour Choir 2005 season and directed the 300-voice Knox Commonwealth Choir in 2006.

Simon Loveless B.A., B.Mus., L.Mus.A. ~ Accompanist
A graduate of the University of Melbourne's Conservatorium of Music, Simon is an accompanist with a particular interest in choral music.  As well as working with Yarra Ranges Children's Choir, he is also the accompanist with Melbourne Women's Choir, accompanist and Co-Musical Director at Cranbourne Chorale, a tutor with Berwick Youth Choir, and a singer with Melbourne Chamber Choir.

Tara Falconer B. Teach. (prim. & sec.), B. Mus. (Melb.), A. Mus. A. (piano) ~ Assistant Musical Director
Tara Falconer has been with YRCC for five years. After completing a music degree, Tara worked as an outdoor educator before training as a classroom teacher.  She has taught classroom, ensemble and instrumental music in schools.  She has more recently begun work with children with disabilities. 
Tara's passions include noisy and active learning activities, discovering cafés and patronising any retail outlets displaying chocolate.

Andrea Blansjaar B. Teach. (prim. & sec.), B. Mus. ~ Assistant Musical Director
Since graduating in 2001, Andrea Blansjaar has taught as a classroom music teacher and a general classroom teacher at Macclesfield and Gembrook Primary Schools. She has also taught as a secondary singing teacher. She is currently on leave from school teaching to pursue other studies.
Andrea began choral singing in the Dandenong Ranges Children’s Choir. The highlight of her choral singing life so far was touring Brazil in 2002 with the Melbourne Chorale Ensemble directed by Jonathon Grieves-Smith. In her spare time Andrea enjoys a cappella singing with friends.
